Sustainability

Doing well by doing good

Making sure that every part of the journey from pasture to plate is safe, responsible, and sustainable isn’t only important to us, our industry and the future – it’s the right thing to do.

Our people work hard with our ranchers, customers and suppliers to make positive changes and continuous improvement across all our operations and deliver on our sustainability commitment of doing well by doing good.

Our sustainability strategy focuses on Best Practice Animal Welfare, Collaborative Environmental Stewardship, Thriving People and Communities, and Safe and Nutritious foods.

Building on the Teys family legacy, we’re always evolving and improving, and doing everything we can to enrich the lives of our communities and feed people around the world now, and for generations to come.

Best Practice Animal Welfare

Part of our DNA

At Teys, best practice animal welfare is part of our DNA – we have a zero tolerance for animal mistreatment across our entire supply chain.

Our people work together with our ranchers and suppliers to make sure that every animal in our care is treated with respect and stringent welfare standards are met.

Across our operations, our animal experts and dedicated livestock teams are leading the way, continually innovating and looking for opportunities to improve welfare practice.

And always act with animal welfare top of mind.

Collaborative Environmental Stewardship

Minimizing environmental impacts

Focusing on better environmental outcomes across all our operations, and as an industry, means we can help create brighter futures for our local communities and the planet.

Working in collaboration with our ranchers, suppliers and customers, we’re continuously improving our environmental practices.

Our people are driven by a shared focus on minimizing our environmental impacts through carbon reduction, responsible food production with sustainable packaging, less waste and water usage, and supporting regenerative agriculture.

We know big goals produce big results. That is why at Teys, our Australian operations have 5-year resource efficiency targets and we continue to support the red meat industry goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.

Thriving People & Communities

The lifeblood of our business

Our people and local communities are the lifeblood of our business and play a big role in what makes Teys special. That is why we’re always looking for ways to give back and support the people and communities who are supporting us.

We celebrate the diversity of our people and the range of employment opportunities we offer, providing options to gain formal qualifications and advance. We do everything we can to ensure a safe and healthy environment where our people can thrive.

As a global food business, we also feel privileged to be a part of local communities all around the world.

From the very beginning, our business has been about helping people and enriching lives wherever we can and as we’ve grown, we’ve held onto those values.
